About Me

Hi!
My name is Lisa Pontius. I am a 25 year old wife, chef, business owner, middle daughter, sister and doggie mama. I was raised in Scarsdale, New York and went to undergraduate university at the University of Maryland. I joined a sorority (Delta Gamma) and enjoyed college life and made some life-long friends. I graduated with a B.A. in anthropology. I then went on to attend the International Culinary Center (formerly the French Culinary Institute) in NYC where I studied Italian cuisine. My culinary program took place half in the school in NY and half in the ALMA School of Italian Cuisine in Parma, Italy.

I left Italy and moved to Charleston, SC to live with my recently retired and relocated parents. It was there that I met (for a second time) the love of my life. We moved in together and I began working at a local high-end Italian restaurant downtown. I got to a point where it was obvious that I had to make a choice between working crazy hours in a restaurant or following my relationship where it was leading. I chose love and I have never looked back. With the support of my now husband Matt, I own my own private chef business and love every second of it!
